Acceptable Use Policy.
A plain-language summary of what you can and can't do with Keystone IQ. Last updated July 2026.
What this policy covers
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses Keystone IQ. It's meant to be skimmed, not studied — the short version is: use the product to run your rental business, don't use it to break the law or break the service for other customers. It works alongside (and doesn't replace) our Terms of Service.
1. No illegal activity
Don't use Keystone IQ to do anything illegal, including:
- Fraud, money laundering, or hiding the true source or destination of funds
- Illegal discrimination against tenants or applicants (fair housing and similar laws still apply to how you run your rentals — Keystone IQ is a bookkeeping tool, not a shield from them)
- Any other activity that violates local, state, federal, or international law
2. Only upload data you have the right to use
Keystone IQ is built to hold your own portfolio's records — your properties, your tenants, your bank and mortgage statements. That means:
- Only upload documents and data you're legally authorized to hold and process (your own tenants' records, your own financial statements)
- Don't upload someone else's confidential or personal data without their permission — for example, a former employer's records, or a third party's private financial information
3. No unauthorized security testing
Don't run penetration tests, vulnerability scans, or any other security testing against Keystone IQ's systems without our prior written permission.
Found a genuine security issue? We want to know — please reach out to support@keystoneiq.app or see our Security page for how to report it responsibly. (We don't currently run a paid bug-bounty program — please don't expect a reward for a report, though we're grateful for the heads-up.)
4. No reverse-engineering, scraping, or evading limits
- Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of Keystone IQ
- Don't scrape or bulk-extract data from the app or marketing site outside of the features we provide for that purpose
- Don't try to get around usage limits, rate limits, or plan quotas (for example, by creating multiple accounts to dodge a plan's cap)
5. No reselling, white-labeling, or sublicensing
Your Keystone IQ subscription is for your own use (or your organization's, if you've added team members). Don't resell access, rebrand the product as your own ("white-label" it), or sublicense your account to someone else without a separate written agreement with us.
6. No excessive or abusive automated use
Don't hammer our API or servers with automated requests, bots, or scripts at a volume that degrades the service for other customers. If you have a legitimate need for higher-volume or automated access, contact us first at support@keystoneiq.app so we can work out something that doesn't put other customers' experience at risk.
7. What happens if this policy is violated
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy. Where practical, we'll give you notice and a chance to explain or fix the issue before taking action — but for serious violations (illegal activity, active security testing, active abuse degrading the service for others) we may act immediately to protect our systems and other customers. This is consistent with — not in addition to — the account-termination terms in our Terms of Service.
